Trena's Story

Trena Graham

Trena has been choreographing her own dances since a very early age. It all started in grade 2 when she choreographed her very own dance to "Walking After Midnight" by Patsy Kline for a talent day in class. Her teacher was so impressed, that she asked Trena to do an encore, and brought the other grade 2 class over to be entertained. Her passion for choeographing and love of dance continued into her teen years and beyond.

In 2001, Trena had an opportunity to train and teach ballroom and Latin dance at the Fred Astaire Studio in Ottawa. In 2003, she returned to Nova Scotia and continued further training and teaching with her current dance partner, Michel Dube. Trena and Michel teach Salsa, Classic Latin and Ballroom classes for beginners to advanced students.

Pole Dancing was introduced at the studio after Trena watched the Oprah show one day where a celebrity guest was showing Oprah and her other guests the benefits of pole dancing and the transformation it can have on women. Trena was intrigued and followed through by taking extensive lessons at a studio in Los Angeles. She then continued on to take training at other studios from Vancouver to Toronto.

Trena then used her creativity to develop a unique brand of classes in Sensual Movement & Pole Dancing which are now very popular with women throughout the city and further. Women travel from as far away as New Minas, the Valley, Bridgewater and even other provinces to take part in the classes, workshops and bachelorette parties offered at Trena's Studio.

Trena operated her business from a home studio for 5 years. The business has grown enabling her to open a commercial space in the heart of Bedford, NS, offering dance and fitness classes, parties, private lessons and workshops.
